Why do conservatives give money to people who hate them?

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Would you pay someone $8.99 a month to come to your house, tell you they hate everything about you and slap you directly in the face?  How about $17.99 for the premium version that also keeps you out of work, prevents you from worshipping in church and teaches your kids to hate themselves and their family’s heritage? If you’re reading this and you’re a conservative, you most likely do.

A few weeks ago, it was uncovered that Reed Hastings, the founder and co-CEO of Netflix — the same Netflix that once had Susan Rice as a board member and pays the Obamas millions — donated $3 million dollars to stop the recall election of Gov. Gavin Newsom of California.  Just a quick refresher – Mr. Newsom is the same person who by executive order kept record numbers of Californians out of church, out of schools, and out of work during the pandemic because those things weren’t essential.  What was deemed essential?  Making movies and television shows.

And what was the content of a majority of the movies and television shows that were produced during the pandemic?  Was it balanced programming that ignored politics and gave you an escape from everyday life — or was the majority of it leftist propaganda and viewpoints guised as entertainment? You and I both know the answer.

There’s a Paramount Plus commercial currently running where representatives from that massive entertainment company’s top shows meet on a mountain top — and through both the writing on their shows and the people portraying them, easily 90% are liberal and pushing their political agenda.  Disney has gone a step further with anti-racism (which means anti-whiteness, they’re pretty open about it in the program) training for its employees and that’s before you even begin to analyze their programming.

Now say instead of a television show or movie, you want to watch sports — name a league other than combat fighting that hasn’t actively pushed the leftist agenda.  This season, Major League Baseball moved their All-Star game because they didn’t take the time to actually read legislation designed to protect voting in Georgia — it was much easier to label it racist and act woke. Even NASCAR was quick to take knees and throw fists in the air when driver Bubba Wallace had a fake issue with a garage pull rope that had been there since at least the last race.  How much are conservatives paying for tickets to those events?  $100 – $250?

Maybe you want to go shopping.  Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola, American Airlines, Gushers, Fruit by the Foot, Kelloggs, Nilla Wafers, Oreo — the list sounds incredibly ridiculous, yet it goes on and on — all have pushed the left’s agenda on America.  They are in your face telling you, conservatives, that they don’t like you.

Those entertainment companies, sports leagues and product brands have all sent a very clear message to you and your family that they don’t support your way of life.  It’s not a stretch to add that none of them would care if you lost your very livelihood because of your beliefs — the Netflix CEO actively spends millions of his own dollars to ensure that happens.  Yet, here you are, handing them your hard-earned money to do it.

At the beginning of my column, I asked if you would pay someone monthly to come into your house to tell you they hate you and slap you in the face and the answer is yes, you would — you do.  You don’t just give them money once a month, you continue to pay them to do it every day, in almost every aspect of your life — and it’s time to put your spending into perspective.

For example, many conservatives get angry when you hear Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spew leftist nonsense about things like the Green New Deal — but when they discover that Alphabet Inc. (aka Google) and Amazon employees have donated over $160,000 to her campaign — they might consider cutting out the middleman and sending her a couple of bucks in the mail instead.

In the 2020 presidential election, about one-quarter of the entire population of the United States voted for the re-election of President Trump. That’s a lot of people who a lot of companies openly dislike.  It’s also a lot of people who agree with the sentiment, ‘go woke, go broke’ but never realize they’re the only way that actually happens.

So far, most companies go woke and conservatives keep willfully and stupidly throwing their money at them — when in reality, if they worked together, companies would drop the wokeness pretty quickly and get back to at least pretending to be neutral.

So to the conservatives reading this piece, I ask you one final question: Why would you give money to someone who hates you?
